FEEL-GOOD-FRIDAY: SALEM

a woman holding a black kitten

Some people just want to live “Spooky Season” all year long and what better way to do that than get yourself a black cat? This weeks Feel-Good-Friday feature a 4 week old precocious polydactyl little pussycat called “Salem”. As cute as she is curious, Salem could not be tamed long enough for WVC’s #pupparazzi to capture her essence on film but thankfully she was great for her first kitten visit and vaccinations.

FUN FACT: What’s that you’re asking? That word we used? “Polydactyl”?
That means that little Salem belongs to a special line of cats that are genetically predisposed to being born with EXTRA TOES!

FUNNER FACT: Author Ernest Hemmingway famously LOVED polydactyl cats so much that he kept a small colony of them in his home and on his property in Key West, Florida. To this day new generations of polydactyl cats still live at the property which is now a museum!

Want to see your pet featured on #FeelGoodFriday? Be sure and ask a technician for a picture on your next visit.
